It can be hard to see the positive in a bad situation but it is there. Sometimes the good is not always seen right away and may take time, but that does not mean that the positive does not exist. At one point I was fired from my workstudy position in graduate school. I was told that I was making mistakes, but yet when I confronted the boss her mistakes that I supposedly made were not even logical. On top of that I was never told that I was making mistakes. My positive to the situation was that I learned to stand up for myself. I asked why they had not told me that I made mistakes and I asked what the apparent mistakes were. Additionally, I realized that if I were not learning and the job was not working to help employees grow than it was not the job for me. Yes being fired was negative, yes it hurt, yet it had some positives and it helped me to learn which made it a pretty good situation in the long run.
It really is true that positive anything is better than negative nothing and that is because negatives do not bring anything to help a person. We tend to dwell on the negatives, but looking at even one positive helps and brings a lot more than the negative.
